Condition & Value / Insurance Marine Surveys
Insurance companies often require a current marine survey before issuing or renewing coverage. Our Condition & Value (C&V) Survey provides an objective assessment of the vessel’s overall condition, safety, and fair market value to help satisfy insurance requirements and protect your investment.
Purpose of This Survey
This survey is typically requested by insurance providers or lenders, but it’s also useful for owners who want an updated understanding of their vessel’s condition and value. It helps:
-
Verify the vessel is safe and seaworthy
-
Document any deficiencies or safety concerns
-
Determine replacement or market value for insurance and financial records
-
Provide peace of mind for owners and insurers alike
What We Do
We conduct a full inspection of the vessel while it is docked or on its lift/trailer. The focus is on the boat’s structural integrity, essential systems, and overall maintenance condition. A haul-out or sea trial is not always required but can be arranged if needed or requested by the insurance provider.
Rather than detailing every component, our goal is to provide a clear picture of whether the vessel meets safety standards and is insurable at a reasonable value.
Why It Matters
Having an accurate and up-to-date marine survey helps prevent coverage delays, reduces risk for both owner and insurer, and confirms that the vessel is being properly maintained. It’s an important step in safeguarding both your boat and your financial investment.
